JOHN C. STUNDA

John’s practice focuses on workers’ compensation defense. He has been defending employers and insurers for 20 years.  In addition to Alabama and Georgia state cases, he also practices in the Federal arena handling Longshore and Defense Base Act claims. John leverages this extensive knowledge in the area of workers’ compensation to aggressively defend his clients in the most cost-efficient manner. Over the years, he has taken hundreds of depositions and tried a multitude of cases. John serves his clients in a variety of industries with experience in retail, construction, school boards, professional practices, trucking, manufacturing, and the food & beverage industries. He has worked with in-house counsel, risk managers, adjusters, human resource executives, TPAs and insurers throughout the country. He is also a frequent speaker at educational seminars.

John obtained his B.S. in accounting at Birmingham-Southern college and his J.D. at the University of Alabama School of Law. He is admitted to practice in both Alabama and Georgia.  John is a member of the Birmingham Bar Association, Atlanta Bar Association, Defense Research Institute, Alabama Defense Lawyers Association, Georgia Self Insurers Association and the Georgia Defense Lawyers Association where he previously served as the Chair of the Workers’ Compensation committee.

In his personal time, John volunteers his time in his community having served as Grand Knight of his local Knights of Columbus council and participating on numerous school action committees. For the past 13 years, he has coached youth sports and is presently an Assistant Scoutmaster with the local troop.
